of mood and men
I came to Mardin on Monday. I’ll be here for at least a couple of days. Here are four of the first photos I made here:

This city itself is a miracle. You should visit Mardin. It’s hard to tell. The marvelous sight of Mesopotamia is something worth seeing. You can test human eye’s capability of how far it can see.
I’ll continue to post photos and thoughts.
Well, nowadays I am mostly busy with concepts that are introduced in The Secret and What The Bleep Do We Know. What those movies say are almost identical. The Secret is absolutely based on facts that are explained in What The Bleep Do We Know.
The main idea is that the universe would be a set of possibilities and nothing would happen or nothing would turn into reality when nobody is there. This is hard to swallow. This is not the physical world we are being told at school. This is something different than what we got used to believe.
Briefly, there are particles that creates an atom and those particles do not provide a reality until they are being observed by some mind. To get a hang of this, please see this Wikipedia pages about the slit experiment and the observer effect.
This means that our minds are able to create this observer effect. Well, frankly, this means that we provide an observer effect and create most of the reality that surrounds us.
It is very likely that it rains when it rains just because a couple of hundreds of people are believing that it will rain or is raining.
This is where thoughts become things and The Secret has to be understood that way. You can create your reality.
Now, a couple of questions arise in my mind… When most of the people think without knowing the secret, they are creating realities for all of us, unconsciously. Those who know and don’t know the secret both broadcast waves of thought while sleeping. Whenever they dream of something during sleep, it is very possible that they are creating a reality somewhere.
What do you think of this?
I have seen the movie, finally. After that, I have scanned the book over at a friend’s home. I like the idea of being a co-creator of our universe. And that’s all about it.
The secret can’t be thought of without quantum physics. Quantum physics came to a conclusion like this: There can’t be a universe, without mind entering into it.
I can understand that people object to the secret because of several different reasons. One of them is secret’s being a little consumer oriented and tells about having a new home, a new car, new commodities, more money, etc. However, it is very normal to have cosumerist view of the secret when it is pronounced by Americans. U.S. is the result of hardcore capitalism, this is their culture, this what their culture has been built upon.
On the other hand, that doesn’t mean that the secret is all about having lots of money and being free to spend it as you wish. That’s just par of the secret. That’s just when you concentrate on finance.
Instead of concentrating on what the secret is influenced by, you can concentrate on what the secret is telling you about how to have what you want to have, including more financial assets as well as many spiritual improvements in your life.
On of the teachers that shows up in the secret says “I have seen many miracles. Financial miracles, miracles of physical healing, mental healing, healing in relationships…”.
So you can keep cool and concentrate on what you want and forget about the examples in the secret that don’t seems interesting to you.
You really have to open and free your mind whether the topic is the secret or not. You have to increase your awareness anyway.
It is really up to you.
A couple of hours ago, I grabbed some paper and some painting tools, and started drawing and painting, arbitrarily as usual. I first used pastels and used them big. Photos of what I have painted are below. They are absolutely decided… by the material and technique I used.

Then I turned to color pencils and started drawing in smaller pieces. Every second I continue was a suggestion for the next second. Thus, the outcome was richer in the context of being art. At least in my humble opinion.

That was the day so far.
I am not an advanced person on meditation. I am not even an intermediate. I dreamed on meditating for years. Finally last week, I decided to sit for about 30 minutes. I would like to share what I felt.
Well, it is not easy to concentrate on the first hand. Many thoughts flow while you are trying to concentrate on nothing. This is so much like brainstorming by yourself that you can use this for creative thinking.
For emptying your mind, experts usually suggest concentrating on your breath. This suggestion has both practical and philosophical meanings. Since meditation is a form of prayer primarily for Hinduism and Buddhism, and since the main idea of them are “the truth that everything passes by”, breathing in and out represents the temporary aspect of life.
On the practical side, it is really convenient to concentrate on your breathing in order not to think about anything else.
For a decent meditation, don’t force yourself not to think about anything. Let your thoughts flow and treat them as your guests. Listen to them and know that the listening period is temporary. Thus, you can have you thoughts listened and see them pass by.
This is also very good in terms of relaxation. I’ll continue to post about my experiences on meditation.
