of mood and men
Well, nowadays I am mostly busy with concepts that are introduced in The Secret and What The Bleep Do We Know. What those movies say are almost identical. The Secret is absolutely based on facts that are explained in What The Bleep Do We Know.
The main idea is that the universe would be a set of possibilities and nothing would happen or nothing would turn into reality when nobody is there. This is hard to swallow. This is not the physical world we are being told at school. This is something different than what we got used to believe.
Briefly, there are particles that creates an atom and those particles do not provide a reality until they are being observed by some mind. To get a hang of this, please see this Wikipedia pages about the slit experiment and the observer effect.
This means that our minds are able to create this observer effect. Well, frankly, this means that we provide an observer effect and create most of the reality that surrounds us.
It is very likely that it rains when it rains just because a couple of hundreds of people are believing that it will rain or is raining.
This is where thoughts become things and The Secret has to be understood that way. You can create your reality.
Now, a couple of questions arise in my mind… When most of the people think without knowing the secret, they are creating realities for all of us, unconsciously. Those who know and don’t know the secret both broadcast waves of thought while sleeping. Whenever they dream of something during sleep, it is very possible that they are creating a reality somewhere.
What do you think of this?

Osman,
It is great that you seem to have not swallowed hook line and sinker the bleep concepts and are still asking questions. Those are good ones. Worry if you stop asking the questions!!!
” The least questioned assumptions are often the most questionable”- Paul Broca
“I respect faith, but doubt is what gets you an education.” William Mizner
Here are a few more…
Just how conscious does one have to be to create ones own reality?? When do they step over the line to be able to do so? Can a child do it? At what age? Can a monkey do it? A dolphin? Any other mammals? Can only mammals create their own reality? What is the gage one uses to determine if they are solely responsible for their own reality or not??
I guess you can tell by my questions that I understand a bit about the concepts put forth in the bleep film and the many others that jumped on the bleeping bandwagon.
The wagon in effect is a snake oil salesmen/women dog and pony show. The Emoto water thing is not accepted anywhere and did not follow any of the normal protocols that a valid study might.
The whole story about the Indians not being able to see Columbus’s ship was a fabrication with absolutely no factual substantiations. There is not even a cultural myth about it.
Dr Albert, the head of theoretical physics at Columbia who was in the film, explained to the filmmakers in detail why the concept of creating ones reality is NOT backed in any way by Quantum mechanics. The filmmakers chose to edit his interview in such a way that it appeared he agreed with them.
There is tons more should you search it out on the Internet.
Of course the film had some half-truths in it, there is a bit of substantiation to the idea that our thoughts and emotions can affect our brain chemistry, but then again so can a multitude of other things.
The film tried to make simple what even the best of the Quantum physicists will agree stumps them!

diggingdeeper, thank you very much for your comment.
I agree with you on your skepticism. However, I don’t agree with you on the point that we should question the movies.
Movies may have parts that are there for the sake of marketing. I think that we should concentrate on the idea.
For instance, the fact that the concept of creating ones reality is NOT backed in any way by Quantum mechanics does not leads to a negation of the concept of creating ones reality. It just means that this is not backed by Quantum mechanics.
On the other hand, whether it is backed or not backed, having a notion of quantum mechanics is something that develops our thinking on different levels.
Thank you very much for your comments again. I fully agree with you on the point of questioning everything and not having blind faith in any single idea, person or group.
