The role of action according to the secret - 1

August 23rd, 2007 by Osman

I see that the role of action when using the law of attraction is a little misunderstood and misguided.

Law of attraction is simple: thoughts become things.

If you know this and still talk about action that much, this just means that you are on the “personal development” bandwagon instead of “the secret” bandwagon.

In other words, that means you have understood nothing about the law of attraction and you are not using the secret.

This means you just use recent scientific developments in the area of cognitive sciences, only to struggle more efficiently and thus become more successful.

James Ray says in an interview:

For instance, there’s been a lot of teaching about visualizing in the last decade, so a lot of people have gotten pretty good at it. I can’t tell you how many people see me in The Secret and tell me “I’m sitting in my living room visualizing my new life every day.” Let me let you in on another secret… you sit around and visualize and they’ll come take your furniture away! While this person may be able to think and feel their visualization in spades they’re not taking any action. It’s not going to happen.

Another meaning of emphasizing action too much is that you are not after wealth. You just seek more money and different experiences.

So why this intellectual people put that much emphasis on action?

Having to take action and and bring success with that action is an experience. A nice experience that can make you feel really good. It is an experience that you can attract into your life via the law of attraction. Maybe you can feel that you are somebody important. Maybe it is the feeling that you are the boss, managing other people. Maybe this is what you understand from abundance and prosperity.

These are feelings and experiences that entertain some people so much that they choose to attract this scenario instead of using the secret for the sake of seemingly unexpected income.

People who claim that action is required think of the secret as a tool which enables them working hard and not getting tired of this work.

Irrelevant and unnecessary introductions

August 22nd, 2007 by Osman

I believe that most of the introductions that are there, are irrelevant and unnecessary, regardless of whatever we are talking about.

Be it a book, a movie, a podcast, a news item, when people start reading what you have written, listening to you, or watching something that you put together, they usually seek information.

When you greet them with something different than the information you are going to provide, this decreases their energy of understanding.

I understand that there can be occasions in which you have to distract people from what they have in their mind and than reassemble their attention into what you have to say.

However, being in need of this is a domain of opposition. An opposition that ships your thinking as well as the mind of the audience with low energy.

Think about giving bad news. When you use techniques of prolonged beginnings, introduction music, animation before telling what you consider as bad news, that will not change the bad news. Neither will that change the would-be connection between the bad news and you.

I know that not every person is capable of understanding more than half of what is being told to them but this will not change according to your introduction either.

The most successful method of communication might be giving information directly, regardless of its possibility of creating danger, fear, anxiety, etc. Then you will be able to see the degree of understanding and you will also be able to react and manipulate.

This holds true for anything you will initiate through your whole life. When you are going to start a new business, the tendency is to start from one step behind the first step. In fact, every proffessional, successful entrepreneur starts a new business from the second step.

The sun does not prepare itself for its rise. Imitate the sun.

New age thoughts: Where to go from here?

August 13th, 2007 by Osman

I have always been interested in mystical stories, new age thoughts and teachings, the bleeding edge of science, etc.

After years of reading, thinking, talking about “what does it all mean”, nowadays I came with a conclusion on all things I have researched so far.

The movies “what the bleep do we know”, “the secret” and the books of Abraham’s teachings, some hands on, useful information on quantum physics are really helpful to sum up what you know and what to make out of what you know.

If I were to write down what I am feeling recently, and all the things those feelings suddenly brought to my life, I had to write a book!

But since this is a daily blog post, I will not going to make you drown in details. Three quotes from “the secret” may be successful on summarizing what I feel exactly at the moment, and there is only this moment; it is always now.

Learn to become still and take your attention away from what you don’t want, and place your attention on what you wish to experience.

When the voice and vision on the inside become more profound and clear than the opinions on the outside, then you have mastered your life.

You are not here to try to get the world to be just as you want it. You are here to create the world around you that you choose.

That’s what it all means.

Where teachers of the secret do wrong

August 10th, 2007 by Osman

I look for web sites of people who claim to understood the secret and teaching the secret. Most of them, or most popular ones also showed up in the movie “the secret”.

However, I see something that is not compatible with anybody who understood the secret.

Those web sites usually begin with a prejudice of opposition. An opposition that they think people will have when they hear the secret. While they try to eradicate all the doubt from people, they show the unawareness of creating the opposition while they think about it.

This is seemingly a wise marketing move where the seller tries to decrease the doubt in the buyers mind. But hey, we are talking about the law of attraction! While you focus on the opposition that people or potential buyers may have, you are creating and perpetuating this opposition.

What I tell here is not a counter argument to the secret or the law of attraction. This is not something I tell for the sake of good marketing. This is just a quick note to tell that if you keep your attention on that opposition that people may have then you are on the track of creating more opposition and perpetuating the opposition that already might be there.

Just my a couple of cents :)
